A survey was taken by a pest study organization, to find out what pests are feared the most around the world including the Las Vegas area. Twenty-three countries took part in the survey.

The following are the most feared pests in order: cockroaches, bed bugs, spiders, rodents, wasps, mosquitoes, termites, flies and ants.

Cockroaches: are very hard to get rid of and introduce bacteria and allergens to our environment.

Bed Bugs: usually “hitchhike” into a residence on clothing, luggage, pets, furniture or people – then the infestationgrows as the bugs feed and reproduce.

Spiders: usually do not bite but will if they feel threatened. If they do bite you might experience burning or itching.

Rodents: can breed rapidly and do quite a bit of damage to your home by chewing on things and getting into food supplies. Wild rodents can also carry diseases that may infect humans.

Wasps:stinging pests that can cause an allergic reaction in many people.  

Mosquitoes:carry the deadly West Nile virus and has been discovered in the Las Vegas Valley

Termites: are economically significant as pests that can cause serious structural damage to buildings, crops or plantation forests.

Flies: are varied in appearance and behavior – the most common flies we encounter are the house fly, mosquitoes and midges.

Ants:some sting and most bite but they all cause a great deal of annoyance and destruction when they form a colony in or around your home.
