Silverfish, the next pest on our “unwanted list”, are quite ugly and can be found in homes in all areas of the Las Vegas Valley – in Henderson, Summerlin or in Central Las Vegas.

When we think of spiders we envision creepy crawlers that we see in haunted houses and horror movies as well as the spiders we see in our homes. Most of these pests we encounter in our houses in Green Valley, Mountain’s Edge or Southern Highlands pose no threat to people.

Bed Bugs are the next pest on the Las Vegas UNWANTED LIST. In 1940 bed bugs were almost completely eradicated from human habitats in developed countries but recently infestations have been on the increase. Whether you live in Anthem, Summerlin or Centennial Hills you can be at risk.

As we get deeper into the fall season in Las Vegas we spend more time indoors. From Southern Highlands to Henderson we are feeling the comfort of our homes….until a mouse or a cockroach scurries across the floor.

Mites are one of the most common types of pests on earth and because of their small size (most are microscopic,) go largely unnoticed. They are found everywhere in the Las Vegas Valley – including Spring Valley, Henderson, Summerlin and Centennial Hills.

Mosquitoes carrying the deadly West Nile virus have been discovered in the Las Vegas Valley with six cases of the virus reported already this year. We experienced a lot of rain in short periods of times in Henderson and in North Las Vegas causing shallow stagnant pools of water – good breeding areas for mosquitoes – the carrier of West Nile.

The next pest on the Las Vegas UNWANTED LIST is the cricket. Crickets like warm climates – like Green Valley, Boulder City, Summerlin and Mountain’s Edge.

Fall in Las Vegas is a wonderful season – the evening air becomes crisp in Henderson, Summerlin and on the Strip. Unfortunately, it is alsothe time of the year we see the arrival of stink bugs.

Rats and mice make up the next classification – RODENTS - on the MOST “UNWANTED LIST”. They can be found in every neighborhood in the Las Vegas Valley – including Anthem, Southern Highlands, Summerlin and Green Valley.

Living in the Las Vegas Valley and other parts of the southwest with mild climates all types of pests can be an ongoing problem. Some pest might be helpful as they eat other pests but most are just a nuisance. That is why pest management is important in your home and your business environment in Central Las Vegas, Henderson and Summerlin.
